Safe Shopping Websites

In recent times you must have seen a lot of news on TV and Print media how hackers steals your Credit Card information from Internet. Not many people know but a lot of these hackers inject a malicious code on the website specially Shopping websites where the customer enters their confidential payment information and steal your card information when you enter the details. These websites run on HTTP protocol rather than HTTPS.

Difference between HTTP and HTTPS and why you should shop on websites those are secured via HTTPS :

Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS) is the secure version of HTTP, the protocol over which data is sent between your browser and the website that you are connected to. The ‘S’ at the end of HTTPS stands for ‘Secure’. It means all communications between your browser and the website are encrypted. HTTPS is often used to protect highly confidential online transactions like online banking and online shopping order forms.

Web browsers such as Internet Explorer, Firefox and Chrome also display a padlock icon in the address bar to visually indicate that a HTTPS connection is in effect.

The information that you enter on HTTPS sites is encrypted and hackers cannot steal your information. So at Fashion Station we recommend that you shop online only on those websites that use HTTPS protocol.

Usually the HTTPS websites address bar will have a Lock sign as shown in the Picture below:

This is why you should enter your credit card number in an HTTPS website and check for the “LOCK” symbol on URL of the web page.  But if the web address begins with https:// that means your computer is talking to the website in a Secure code and no one can steal your sensitive information.

At The Fashion Station , security of the Information provided by our customers is extremely important and all data that is sent is Encrypted , so you can safely shop online on
